Editor Barman, Lexington, S. C.,
My Dear Sir:
* Will vou please publish in your most
excellent paper the following:
. Dr. G. R. Harding, the specialist in
all dental work and painless extracting
of teeth is in his office; he is the first
and only painless tooth extractor without
the nse of gas, ether or chloroform,
in the city of Colombia, he having introduced
it nine years ago. Tell them
not to listen to the lies that are being
circulated, that Dr. Harding is dead;
that he is out of business *, that he is
.^in the hospital. Jnst say to the people
of Lexington county and to the
public generally that the Doctor has
frnm V?ia thrpp months' ill
ness and is at his office, near Smith's
branch, near Hyatt's Park, near
Trolly cars; ten minutes ride from
the Transfer Station. Take the Ridgewood
cars and tell the. conductors to
put you off at the Red, White and
Blue house, where you will find the
Doctor to receive you politely and
treat you kindly. Tell them not to
notice advertised prices but go to him.
The price can be fixed after we know
what is to be done. Just say to those
who read this, that Dr. Harding does
work at the poor man's price, live and
? let live. Yours respectfully.
Dr. G. R. Hailing.

Tho Aiksa Dispensaries.
According to the report of the Aiken
county dispensary board, for the quarter
ending on Sept. 30, the county iias
received in profits the sum of ?18,051.85.
This sum was distributed by the
county board as follows: Town of
North Augusta, ?3,168.07; town of
Wagener, ?274.48; town of Sally,
?294.87; city of Aiken, ?2,279.89; Aiken
county school fund, ?6,017.29;
general county furd, ?6,917.28
The profits from the various dispensaries
were as follows: North Augusta,
?9,504.21; Wagener, ?823.43; Salley,
?894.61; Aiken, No. 1, ?4,471.62; Aiken
No. 2, ?663.27; Aiken No. 3, ?1,704.81.
The aggregate profits a little
more than ?18,000, is for the quarter,
ennsidered thp dullest in the vear fnr
liquor trade, and taking this amount
for the summer season as a forecast,
it would appear that the dispensaries
of the county will clear a hundred
thousand dollars this year.
About Printing a Newspaper.
Editing a newspaper is a nice thing.
If we publish jokes, people say we
are rattle brained. If we don't we are
fossils.
If we publish original matter they
say we don't give them enough selections.
If we give them selections they
say we are too lazy to write.
If we don't go to church we are
heathens. If we g > ve are hypocrites.
If we remain in tun office, we ought
to go out and hustle. If we go out,
then we wear old clothes they laugh
at us. If we wear good clothes they
say we have a pull.*
Just as likely as not some one will
say we stole this from an exchange.
