Roof, Jr., died Sept. 6, 1908, aged 30 years, 9 months and 16 days. She was' baptised in ^infancy and in early life was confirmed a member of Zion's E. L. Church in whose fellowship she remained until death. She leaves husband, father, mother, four brothers, three sisters, and a host of friends to mourn her untimely departure, but their loss, we trust, i9 her eternal gain. Her remains were laid to re9t in the cemetery of St. David's E. L. Church, Rev. E. L. Lybrand assisting the pastor. J. A. C. Two Army Officers. It is probable that the -war department will detail two army officers each at Clemson and the Citadel in the future. Recently the Citadel was classed as one of the six best military schools in the United States, and one graduate is entitled to a place in the regular army. Cholera Still Spreading. The cholera plague in St. Petersburg is still spreading. It has now reached the aristocratic part of the pifv Big Jail Becord. It is said that 341 persons were lodged in the Aiken jail during the past year. Pretty big record. His loss was about ?5,000, but was covered by insurance. W. B. McCaw, a very prominent lawyer of Yorkville, died on Sunday after an extended illness. He was a son of former lieutenant governor, R. M. McCaw. A mass meeting of Clemson and Carolina students m the I niversity chapel has been planned for fair week i in order to promote closer feeling between the two student bodies. Chattanooga and Columbus have been admitted into the South Atlantic league, making it an eight club organization. Cupid is the architect of a good many air castles.
