A dispatch from New York under
recent date says:
Daniel J. Sully, who twice won and

Wall street," has resigned the presidency
of the Cerro-Colorado Mining
company and gone to work as a clerk
for Hayden, Stone & Co., to give
their clients the benefit of his experi
ence. Mr. Sully's new office is at No.
25 Broad street, just across the narrow
exchange place from the dismantled
offices of the Cerro-Colorado Mining
company.
"I am through with speculation forever.
I know that the new life is directly
opposite to that opinion of me
which the general public formed following
my past operations. I know
that I was the pioneer of advertising
my operations in direct appeals to the
people. But I know that I never did
an act that was not honorable, and I
will now show them that a speculator
can auit."

She gave him a smile from her marvelous
eyes,
As only a woman can;
Like a glorious star she illumined his
skies,
As only a woman can.
From the moment hi9 path by her

Till all of a sudden she gave him a

With a cynical hate she embittered
