G-. B. Shaffer Dead.
Rev. G. R. Shaffer, pastor of the
Methodist cnurch at Swansea, died at
his home in that town Thursday evening,
after a ten days illness. Rev.
Mr. Shaffer was one of the best known
- men in the Methodist church and was
very popular with the people among
whom he had worked.
He is survived by a wife and several
children.

Prof. Cyrus L. Shealy left sStur
day morning for Camden, where he
goes to accept the principalshipof the
Grammar school, in the graded school
system of that city. Prof. Shealy is
one of the brightest and most talented
young men that has ever gone out
from Lexington county, and that he
will give universal satisfaction goes
without saying. He is an honor graduate
of the University of South Caro
' lina, a thorough student and best of
all, is endowed with high traits of
Christian character, which is so characteristic
of his family. He is a brother
of Mr. Frank W. Shealy and has hundreds
of friends throughout the county
who will join The Dispatch in wishing
for him much success and happi
