ABOUT FEEDING- HORSES.
; Part of a Speech of One of the South's
Greatest Experts in This Line.
The following is clipped from The
State, being a parti of the speech recently
made by Judge Henry Hammond,
of Augusta and Beach Island.
Judge Hammond is recognized as an
expert on the subject of feeding
stock.
^ "When the farmers of the South
% learn to use more of their cotton
products, learn to feed their horses
and stock with, cotton seed products,
it will mean millions of dollars to the
South, part of which every farmer
will save for himself. No report has
ever shown that injury to a horse has
been as a result of feeding cotton
seed meal. Feed it every day. That
is what I do. is not a hot or a cold
climate feed. Feed not less than one
pound nor more than three, the
amount to be determined by the age,
size and work of the animal. Not
only is it the most nutritious food but
) it greatly aids the digestion and gen
eral health and good appearance of
? the animal.
Feed cotton seed meal, with anything
you ever heard of a horse or
I mule eating?corn, whole; or corn

stick to any one food. .Give a variety.
Change as the price changes. It is
always best to feed hard working
stock ground (not too fine) feed. Cotton
seed meal is fed to best advantage
when thoroughly mixed with the
other portion of the grain part of the
ration.
If you know what number of pounds
of grain will maintain your animal,
reduce this two pounds for every
pound of meal you feed him. To
illustrate this, if you have been feeding
him fourteen pounds of corn, give
him now only ten pounds of corn and
two pounds of cotton seed meal. He
Will soon improve and do better work
than ever before.n

The prospects are good for a large

This sign is permanently attached I
to the front of the main building of
the Lydia K Pinkham Medicine
Company, Lynn, Mass.
What Does This Si$p Mean ?
It means that public inspection of
the Laboratory and methods of doing
business is honestly desired. It means
that there is nothing about the business
which is not " open and aboveboard."
It means that a permanent in vita- I
tion is extended to anyone to come
and verify any and all statements
made in the advertisements of Lydia
E. Pinkham's Vegetable Compound.
Is it a purely vegetable compound
made from roots and herbs ? without
drugs ?
Come and See.
Do the women of America continually
use as much of it as we are told ?
Come and See.
Was there ever such a person as
Lydia E. Pinkham, and is there any
Mrs. Pinkham now to whom sick
woman are asked to write r
Come and See.
Is the vast private correspondence
with sick women conducted by
women only, and are the letters kept
strictly confidential ?
Come and See.
Have they really got letters from
over one million, one hundred
thousand women correspondents ?
Come and See.
Have the^r proof that Lydia E.
Pinkham's \ egetable Compound has
cured thousands of these women ?
Come and See.
This advertisement is only for
doubters. The great army of women
who know from their own personal
experience that no medicine in the
world equals Lydia E. Pinkham's
Vegetable Compound for female ills

suffering woman must, for her own

might just as well regain her health.
For Number Two.
"George, dear, what kind of a woman
would you marry if you married
again?" asked the amiable wife.
"Well, if I married again,"?began
the brutal husband.
"Then you acknowledge that you
would marry again?"
"I'm not saying one way or the
other, but"
"But you don't give me a definite
answer, and that proved"?
"That doesn't prove anything, because"?
"It does too? So what kind of a
woman would you marry if you married
again?"
"I wouldn't marry again. I could
not."
"Of course you have to say that."
"Of course I do, because I was
about to say if I married again it
would be the kind of a woman who
would not ask me what kind of a
woman I would marry if I married
again."?Judge.
It's a pity when sick ones drug the
stomach or stimulate the Heart and
Kidneys. That is all wrong! A weak
Stomach, means weak Stomach nerves,
always. And this is also true of the
Heart and Kidneys. The weak nerves
are instead crying out for help. This
explains why Dr. Shoop's Restorative
is promptly helping Stomach, Heart and
Kidney ailments. The Restorative
reaches out for the actual cause of these
ailments?the failing ''inside nerves".
Anyway test the Restorative 48 hours.
It won't cure so soon as that, but you
will surely know that help is coming.
