Struck by Ligktainj.
Aunt Patience Sultan,, one of the
^ most highly respected colored women
in this town, was stunned by lightning
yesterday afternoon. She was
out in the yard hanging up clothes.
The lightning struck the wire, knock*
ing Aunt Patience to the ground. She
was rendered unconscious for several
kours, but will soon be none the worse
for her seemiDg narrow escape.

already secured new registration certificates
in this county, as the law requires.
We publish elsewhere the

The registration board wul
be at the court house here untill the
last day of August, after which time
the board will visit every precinct in
the county. But the time for registering
at the office in the court house
expires with the last day of August.

Obituary.
Otis 0. Drafts departed this life
August 9, 1908, aged 30 years,3 months
and 26 days. There live to mourn
his death a wife, three children, a
father, three sisters and a great many
relatives and friends.
The deceased was baptized in infancy
and a short time before his
death was, by the rite of confirmation,
made a member of Cedar Grove Evangelical
Lutheran church. Funeral
services were held at Cedar Grove on
the day following his death. A large
congregation assembled to pay their
respects to the departed. A good
neighbor and kind hearted man has
gone to his reward. B. L. Stroup.
