There is a spirit of humanity manifesting itself in the cotton mills ir this State. All at once they have realized that their operatives who have been laboring so faithfully need a rest. Realizing that all work and no play makes Johnnie a dull boy, many oi them have given the operatives a ten days' rest. It is encouraging to note that the heartless corporations have some heart, and feel for those whc labor for them and make their wealth. There are some pessimists who really believe that the world is growing worse year by year. This is evidence that belies their belief. Such a thing as a vacation a few years ago was unheard of. We have known mills not to give but one day for Christmas, and an operative lo9t his job who undertook to take Thanksgiving or the Fourth of July. Well, we are glad to see that the mills are beginning to have some consideration for the men and women and little children dependent upon them. There is one i.L ! New York, July 20.?Despondent because of ill health and fearful ol the fate which might await her two little children if they were left alone to face the world, Mrs. Qussie Benson sought peace for all beneath the waters of the East rivers. Today the bodies of the mother and her little ones lie side by side in the morgue, awaiting burial. To Eoop Flies Outside. For those who object to wire netting in the windows a new idea has been found to prevent flies and such annoying pests from entering the house. This new preventative is a window box of mignonette. It seems that the insects do not care to face i.1 _ J n me yuor ui mis cuannmg nower, so that it is an effectual barrier against their invasion. It sounds like a pretty idea, and we may expect to see ugly wire screens entirely discarded and the windows decorated with dainty boxes filled with the sweet blossoms.?Ex. This is what Hon. Jake Moore, State Warden of Georgia, says of Kodol for Dyspepsia: "E. C. DeWitt & Co., Chicago, 111.?Dear Sirs?I have suffered more than twenty years from indigestion. About eighteen months ago I had grown so much worse that I could not retain anything on my stomach. I lost 25lbs; in fact I made up my mind that I could not live but a short time, when a friend of mine recommended Kodol. I consented to try it to please him and was better in one day. I now weigh more than I ever did in my life and am in better health than for many years. Kodol did it. I keep a bottle constantly, and write this hoping that humanity may be benefitted. Yours very truly, Jake C. Moors, Atlanta, Aug. 10, 1004." Sold by Kaufmann Drug Co. The best weapon of the candidate in a primary is the lawn mower, as there are always snakes in the grass.
