Facts Show Fitness
or Unfitness.
To the Editor of The Dispatch:
It goes without saying that correct
opinions are reached only when the
facts which belong to the matter upon
which the opinion rests are considered.
Courts and elections are in.
some respects alike. In courts it is
the duty of the attorney to get the '
facts in each case before the jarj\ In j
elections to fill offices it is the privi- j
lege of any citizen to get the facts i
connected with the previous public I
life of each aspirant to office before i
the body of citizens. The nature of
these facts may differ. In one case J
they may be for and in another they ;
may be against an aspirant. The
right to give the facts which are favorable
to an anspirant is not likely
to be abridged. The facts are not for
the man himself, but for his fitness
for the place he seeks. Take away
the facts from a public life and who
could say fit or unfit?
The facts connected with a term of
office it seems to me are public property
and should be in demand where
* I J xl 1 x 3 _ *
iairness ruies ana tne oest enu or government
are sought.. It is a scheme
of the politician to try to scare the
facts of unfitness out of his way.
Elections to office which demand
and observe the facts of fitness or unfitness
of men will always promote
good. A VOTER.
Catarrh Cannot Be Cured
with Local Applications, as they cannot
reach the seat of the disease. Catarrh
is a blood or constitutional disease, and
in order to cure it you must take internal
remedies. Hall's Catarrh Cure
is taken internally, and acts directly on
the blood and mucous surfaces. Hall's
Catarrh Cure is not a quack medicine. It
was prescribed by one of the best physicians
in this country for years and is
a regular prescription. It "is composed
of the best tonics known, combined
with the best blood purifiers, acting
directly on the mucous surfaces. The
perfect combination of the two ingredients
is what produces such wonderful
results in curing Catarrh. Send for
testimonials free.

Columbia Boy Zilled by Train.
In attempting to swing on to an
outgoing Southern passenger train
just pulling out of the Union station
for Marion, N. C., Boyd Stroud, the
16-year-old son of Arch Stroud, of the
Richland Mill village, in Columbia,
fell under the wheels and was instantly
killed on Wednesday morning a
block from the Union station.
The little fellow's body was horribly
mangled, the head being the only
portion not cut up.
When Love is Done.
The night has a thousand eyes,
The day but one;
Yet the lightsof the bright world dies
With the dying sun.
The mind has a thousand eyes,
And the heart but one;
Yet the light of a whole life dies
When love is dene.
This is what Hon. Jake Moore, State
Warden of Georgia, says of Kodol for
Dyspepsia: "E. C. DeWitt & Co., I
Cliicago, 111.?Dear Sirs?I have suffer- J
ed more tlian twenty years from indi- j
gestion. About eighteen months ago I
had grown so much worse that I could
not retain anything on my stomach. I
lost 25lbs; in fact I made up my mind
that I could not live but a short time,
when a friend of mine recommended
Kodol. I consented to try it to please
him and was better in one day. I now
weigh more than I ever did in my life
and am in better health than for many
years. Kodol did it. I keep a bottle
constantly, and write this hoping that
humanity may be benefitted. Yours
very truly, Jake C. Moors, Atlanta,

That's why they are called Preventics.
