To the Editor of The Dispatch:
I have 9een in the columns of
your paper my name announced as a
candidate for the Senate. This announcement
was made without my
knowledge or consent. Since seeing
this I have been seriously considering
whether I should enter the race or
not. "While I would be pleased to
undertake to serve in such capacity
should a majority of the voters
so desire, the rules of the democratic
party expeetthat all candidates
make a canvass of the county, and I
have come to the conclusion that
neither my inclination nor my business
obligations will permit me
to make such a caiwass. I, therefore,
take thi9 means of announcing to
those who would support me, that I
greatly appreciate their favorable estimation
of me, but I will not be a
candidate at the coming primary.
Very respectfully,.
G. A.' Guignard.

The number of pupils is limited for
it is the aim of the management that
each student have the individual attention
and personal oversight so
essential to the best training.
Thoroughness in training and the
building of character are aimed at
and not so much the mere showiness
of superficial polish. The school is
thoroughly Christian and the atmosphere
of the home prevails. If you
are seeking the best training for your
daughter you cannot do better than
to send her to Clifford Seminary.
Among other attractive features is
the fact that this school is. located in
the Piedmont region of South Carolina
and the climate is as healthful as
can be found anywhere. Write for
