A Good Negro Fanner. j Uncle Pick Jiles, one of the best negro farmers in this section, was the i thud to send us a cotton blossom this season. Uncle Pick has a fine prospect for a large cotton yield. Death of An Infant The infant child of Mr. and Mrs. 0. B. Steele, of this place, died at Bates- | ^ bnrg on last Tuesday and was. buried the following day. The parents have the sympathy of a large circle of friends in their hour of sore affliction. Dr. P. H. Sbealy. . Dr. P. H. Shealy was elected secretary of the State Dental association at their annual meeting in Columbia last week. Dr. E. J. Etheredge, of Deesville, was elected president.
