Thousands Have Kidney
Trouble and Never Suspect it.
Prevalency of Kidney Disease.
Most people do not realize the alarming
increase and remarkable prevalency
, of kidney disease.
^orders are the
most common
M f diseases that prevail,
they are
almost the last
recognized by
patient and physicians,
who con?tent
themselves
with doctoring the effects, while the original
disease undermines the system.
"What To Do.
There is comfort in the knowledge so
often expressed, that Dr. Kilmer's
Swamp-Root, the great kidney remedy,
fulfills every wish in curing rheumatism,
pain in the back, kidneys, liver, bladder
and everv part of the urinarv passage.
It corrects inability to hold water
and scalding pain in passing it, or bad
effects following use of liquor, wine or
beer, and overcomes that unpleasant necessity
of being compelled to go often
during the day, and to get up many
times during the night. The mild and
the extraordinary effect of Swamp-Root
is soon realized. It stands the highest
for its wonderful cures of the most distressing
cases. If 3*ou need a medicine
you should have the best. Sold by druggists
in fifty-cent and one-dollar sizes.
* You may have a sample bottle and a
book that tells all
about it, both sent free
by mail. Address Dr.

The State Borrowing Money.
State Treasurer Jennings has returned
from New York, where he
went in connection with the negotiation
of a loan for the State. The
State has borrowed on separate notes,
the sum of $200,000 at the rate of fouf
and one-half per cent., the notes running
until January. This money is
needed for pensions and other expenses
as the State's income from
taxes is almost altogether one year
behind. It is possible that another
loan will have to be made about the

State's bonded debt is due.
The State has about three-quarters
of one million dollars, the dispensary
money, on deposit in banlrs throughout
the State at four per cent, and at
least two hundred thousand dollars of
this amount is without question the
State's money, while the balance
may belong to creditors of the late
state dispensary. The State is getting
one-half of one per cent, less for
its money than it is paying for its
loan.

The promotion of Col. R. W. Hunt
from the position of assistant general
passenger agent of the Southern railway
to the very important position of
superintendent of train collectors is,
indeed, a deserved promotion. For
many years Col. Hunt was the popular
and genial division passenger
agent with headquarters in Charleston,
and for the past year assistant
general passenger agent with headquarters
at Atlanta. In both positions
Col. Hunt made hundreds of
friends who will rejoice with him in
what is a just recognition of his fine
business ability.
