The Lexington Dispatch.
Wednesday, May 13.1908.
Our Virginia Letter.
To the Editor of The Dispatch:
Although sixty-five miles from
home, I am reminded that it is high
time to write my friends another letter
through The Dispatch. I have
been at Eggleston, in Giles county,
for a week, preaching in a vacant
congregation. Somehow, I am called
on for a lot of such work. This is the
next station to Pembroke, the home
of Rev. B. W. Cronk, of your town.
Mine host, Mr. Walker, drove, me up
there the other day, and I was much
pleased to meet his family, and to enjoy
their kindness. Two of his brothers-in-law
attended our service yesterday.
Their name is Snidow, and
I wonder if it was not originally the
same as the name ol' similar sound in
Lexington county. Their home has
very picturesque surioundings. It is
on the east bank of the New river.
Between the house and the river bank,
a new railroad has been built. The
Norfolk and Western is on the west j
bank. Just'opposite the home, the
latter road runs through a tunnel.
This tunnel is through tremendous
cliffs of rock, projecting to the water's
edge. They are called "castle rocks,"
and the name indicates their appearance
and character. They are said to
be 300 feet high and present a \%ry
imposing appearance.
In March I spent a week in Floyd
county, on a preaching tour. I had
twenty-five miles to drive after leaving
the train. Moreover, it was
through the mountains. Had to travel
behind two horses, and went only j
about; three miles and hour. rne
people are universally kind. On this
trip, I left a suit of ciothes in the office
of the liveryman?so it finally appeared.
I was about a month finding
where it was. My congregation heard
of my loss, and promptly presented
me with a check of $27.50 for a new
suit. My last suit finally turned up,
so I was a suit of clothes to the good.
I suppose my home friends are eating
fresh garden vegetables. We are
eating fresh vegetables too, but not
from our gardens. Our elevation
makes such very late. Beans, corn,
potatoes, etc., are just coming up. I
have a good garden, and this is the
extent of my work along thi9 line.
We are late, but have abundance in
summer when your gardens will suffer
from heat and lack of moisture.
We have just gone through an epidemic
of mumps. There must have
been 200 cases in our place. We had
seven cases in our family?all except
myself. Mr9. B. suffered very much.
She 4'bad" to keep going, and paid
for it. The children got along nice ly,
but had to miss school.
We had very enjoyable services the
week before and including Easter.
Rev. H. P. Counts preached for me
two nights, also another preacher one
night. Eleven were received into full
communion with the church, four of
whom were heads of families, two of
whom were silvered with age, nearing
the three-score-and-ten point in
life. Three of our own children have
been confirmed. Our people are very
kind to us, and we appaeciate it.
I enjoy my usual good health. Love
to all. ' S. C. B.

" I suffered untold misery from female
troubles. 2\Iv doctor said an opera
tion was the only chance I had, and I
dreaded it almost as much as death.
44 One day I read how other women
had been cured by Lydia E. Pinkham s

try it. Before I had taken the first
bottle I was better, and now I am entirely
cured.
44 Every woman suffering with any
female trouble should take Lydia E.

Biliousness and Constipation.
For years I was troubled with biliousness
and constipation, which made life
miserable for me. My appetite failed
me. I lost my usual force and vitality.
Pepsin preparations and cathartics only
made matters worse. I do not know
where I should have been today had I
not tried Chamberlain's Stomach and
Liver Tablets. The tablets relieve the
ill feeling at once, strengthen the digestive
functions, purify the stomach, liver
and blood, helping the system to do its
work naturally.?Mrs. Rosa Potts, Birmingham,
Ala. These tablets are for

If anyone has any doubt as to the
virtue of Fole's Kidney Cure, they
need only to refer to Mr. Alvin H.
Stimpson, of Willimantic, Conn., who,
after almost losing hope of recovery, on
account of the failure of so many remedies,
finally tried Foley's Kidney Cure,
which he says was "just the thing" for
him, as four bottles cured him completely.
He is now entirely well and
free from all the suffering incident to
acute kidney trouble. Derrick's Drug

On Wednesday morning, April 29,
as the golden rays of the sun came to
dismantle the earth of its darkness,
Brother Robert E. Inabinet breathed
his last, and his spirit took its flight
from time to eternity. We have lost
a good neighbor and a true friend.
He leaves a wife, a daughter and
three sons to mourn his loss. Brother
Inabinet was a kind husband and an
affectionate father. We tenderly and
sincerely sympathize with the bereaved.
May heaven's blessings rest
upon them and the comforter of all
hearts comfort them in this, their
hour of trial.
Farewell, dear brother, we hope to
meet you again. "When the mists
have passed away, we shall know
eachother better, we shall know as
we are known."
His remains were interred at Cal
vary church with Masonic honors.
