The social given by the Ladies' Aid Society of the Baptist church at the home of Mr. W. A. Harman on Saturday evening was quite a success. A large crowd attended and everything found a ready sale. Delightful Easter services were held in St. Stephen's Lutheran church .Sunday morning, at which time seven accessions were added to the membership of the church. The church was beautifully decorated with potted plants which added greatly to the attractiveness of the occasion. Hevward is hiehly elated over the many assurances of support which he is receiving from all sections of the state and is satisfied with his chances of election so far. Derrick, Lexington, S. C. As Expert Gardener. Mr. C. S. Bradford is an expert gardener. He sowed beets last November and they are now knee high and of average size. They are not tough, either, as one might imagine, being as nice and tender as those planted in early spring. Mr. Bradford has some "of the finest onions we have ever seen, and his other vegetables are equally as fine. Taking his garden as a whole, we venture the assertion that it is the best in the county. A Card. I have again accepted a position with G. H. Roof, at Barr, S. C., as wheelwright and blacksmith and will be pleased to have all my old friends, as well as new ones, to call on me.
