Swearingen, a member of the faculty of Cedar Springs institute, has annouced his candidacy for State superintendent of education. He says he has entered the race to win and will make it lively for the other candidates. He attended the Cedar Spring institute, after which he graduated from the South Carolina university, being the honor man of his class. For nine years he has been connected with Cedar Springs.
