Youmans, of Fairfax, died in a hospital in Savannah; on Yvednesday, after being confined to bed for three weeks. He leaves an estate valued at $100,000. Greenwood, February 27.?Special: Judge Gage to-day refused to grant a new trial to G. Wash Hunter, convicted yesterday of manslaughter for the killing of Elbert Copeland, in Laurens County, in July,'1906. After refusing the motion for a new trial his Honor sentenced Wash Hunter to serve eight years at hard labor in the State Penitentiary. Counsel Richey, for the defence, at once gave notice of an appeal to the Supreme Court. Hunter is out on $4,000 bail. 3 i Awful Death. Choosing fire as a medium of death, Miss Emma Fink, of Slatir.gton, Pa., committed suicide at Slatedale in a most tragic'manner. A dispatch from Spartanburg says Sullivan Hughes, a young white manwho killed John Franklin in the lower part of the county recently, has not been arrested though the young man's father says he will have him surrender to the sheriff.
