Chapin E. F. D. 3.
To the Editor of The Dispatch:
A great deal of sickness in our vicinity
just now.
Dr. J. W. Eargle has been confined
to his room for the last three weeks.
Hope he will soon be able to be out
again.
Last week was very rough on the
R. F. D. boys, but Walt could be
heard blowing his whistle about on
time, except on Monday, when he
had to cut the sapplings out of the
road, which were caused by the
heavy freeze.
Mr. John N. Lindler killed two pigs
five months old a few days ago, one
weighing 19G pounds; the other 165
pounds. Who can beat this at hograising?.
Mr. Robert Cumalander is erecting
a handsome dwelling in the suburbs
of Chapin. #
Small grain has come out considerably
during the last couple weeks.
But little gardening has been done
yet, on account of rain ^and cold
weather.
Pat Bickley and Dr. Blue Mountain
Joe Harmhn have been seen in these
parts quite recently. Pat says he
will not have to do anything this
year, as he only has to work every
two years, and last year he worked;
this year he will litfe on the fruits of
his labors. *
We think that all patrons of R. F.
D. routes should keep the roads in a
traveling condition. In places they
are almost impassable. L. N.

To the Editor of The Dispatch:
/Please allow me space in your vp.1nable
paper to express my heartfelt
.thanks to my friends and neighbors
for their kind assistance in rebuilding
and furnishing my dwelling, which
was destroyed by fire on Dec. 4, 1907.
This was a great loss to me and had
it Dot been for these kind friends and
the rich blessings of pay Heavenly
Father, I do not know what I would
have done.
May the blessings promised to those
who help in time of need descend
upon these kind people.

Thousands of American women |
in our homes are daily sacrificing j
their lives to duty.
In order to keep the home neat
and pretty, the children well dressed
and tidy, women overdo. A female
weakness or displacement is often
brought on and they suffer in silence,
drifting along from bad to worse,
knowing well that they ought to
have help to overcome the pains and
aches which daily make life a burden. It
is to these faithful women that
LYD2A E. PSNKHAM'S
VEGETABLE COMPOUND
comes as a boon and a blessing,
as it didr to Mrs. F. Ellsworth, of
Mayville, X. Y., and to Mrs. \Y. P.
Boyd, of Beaver Falls, Pa., who say:
" I was not able to do my own work,
owing to the female trouble from which
I suffered. Lydia E. Pinkham's Vegetable
Compound helped me wonderfully,
and I am so well that I can do as big a
day's work as I ever did. I wish every
sick woman would try it.
FACTS FOR SICK WOMEN.
For thirty years Lydia E. Pinkham's
Vegetable Compound, made
from roots and herbs, has been the
standard remedy for female ills,
ahd has positively cured thousands of
women -who have been troubled with
displacements, inflammation, ulceration,
fibroid tumors, irregularities,
periodic pains, backache, that bearing-down
feeling, flatulency, indigestion,dizziness,or
nervous prostration.
Why don't you try it ? "
Mrs. Pinkham invites all sick
women to write her for advice.
She has guided thousands to
health. Address, Lynn, Mass.
Sorse Sit Off Cow's Tongue.
A cow belonging to Dr. M. A.
Thompson met with a painful and
most unusual mishap yesterday. *
The cow was in a stall in the stable
adjoining the stall occupied by the
family horse. The cow was trying to
pull some feed through a crack in the
separating partition with her tongue.
The horse did not like this, and made
a snap with his jaws and bit off part
of the cow's tongue. The severed
piece of tongue was found in the
horse's trough.
The cow has been suffering a great
deal, but it is thought she will recover.
The horse does not seem to be particularly
sorry for his action.?Anderson
