Allen Emerson, the white man who escaped from the Anderson jail sev eral months ago, and for whom a reward of $1,100 was offered, surrendered to a constable in Anderson county on Sunday. Born to Mr. and Mrs. George Bell Timmerman about ton days ago, a daughter. A glance at the Solicitor's face as he came into town Sunday, told the story. No reason is assigned for the rash act. - Young Man Sills Himself. G. B. Profitt, a young man from Elberton, Ga., committed suicide in Columbia Sunday by taking an overdose of some drug. The young man had been employed as a draughtsman by Mr. D G. Zeigler, and there i9 apparently no cause for the act.
