To the Edito^r of The Dispatch:
The old year went out quietly and
pleasantly; the new ushered in bright
and gloriously^
The exercises of the Gaston school
on Monday ni^ht before Christmas
were fine and attended by a large
crowd. The children did credit to
themselves and reflected much on
their noble teacher, Miss Sallie Kelly.
D. E* Craft and family, on route 1,
have moved to Swansea, and Edwin
Howell and estimable family have
moved into the house vacated. We
are loath to give up the good Christian
Craft family, but are pleased to
welcome the Howell family as friends
and neighbors.
Mrs. J. C. Howell, from Florida, is
stopping with her daughter, Mrs. J.
V Smith. /
The happy Felix family were the
recipients of many Christmas goods,
brohght in off the route, all for which
they return thanks and especially to
that big hearted, noble, Christian
gentleman, J. W. Reeder, who -so
kindly ^nd generously remembered
them with a big box packed full as a
New Year's gift, Many thanks. May
heaven continue to smile upon you,
Bro. Joseph.
The/e was a double marriage on the
eve of the 5th inst., when there appeared
at the home of W. B. Fallaw
Mr. Bogan Griffin with Miss Daisy E.
Moore and Mr. Henry M. Martin with
Miss Sallie G. Fallaw, who took upon
themselves the marriage vows. These
young couples start out in life with

County Medical Society.
The regular quarterly meeting of
the County Medical Soeiety was held
here Monday with a fair attendance
of the profession and a moaff interesting
one for those who were present.
Dr. T. G. Croft, of Aiken, S. C., delivered
an address to the society that
Bhould have been heard by every
doctor in the county, (and out of it
too,) and learned much to their interest
and benefit. The society afterwards
was served a most delightful
oyster lunch at the Drafts Hotel to
the satisfaction of all present.
