Fowler, the ex-preacher who i has served a sentence in the State j prison for some high-finance operaj tions, has just been awarded a prise < by the Farmers' Union for the best g cotton crop in Greenville county. After his release from prison Fowler 4 ** - Vl _ i..f _ * moved to a small place near f ouniam* Inn, owned by his wife. On this small farm he has worked hard, aided by his faithful wife and several children. Fowler has only one arm and both Lands are gone, but his physical infirmities, have not deterred him from making a success at farming. He has invented, an ingenious contrivance which he l^ears as a sort of harness that fastens him to the plow handles, and it is said that he can run as many furrows and lay by as much corn in a day as any one of his more fortunate neighbors. Fowler's case attracted considerable attention while he was being tried. It will be remembered that both of a his hands were shot off while hunt- i ing, and the insurance companies re- c fused payment of his accident policy, i claiming that he severed the mem- 1 bers just to get the insurance money. I The chief charge against Fowler at c the time was forgery, and on this he c was convicted and sentenced. a . *. c 4 * K Passed Examination Successfolly. v , t James Donahue, New Britain, Conn., writes^ "I tried several kidney reme- ] | dies, and was treated bv our best physi. ? cians for diabetes, but aid not improve ( uctjl I toojs Foley's Kidney Cure.
