Roland were quietly married at the 1
Lutheran parsonage on last Wednesday
night by Rev. W. IL Hiller.

Mr. W. D. Gray, a prominent citizen
of Brooklana, died on Saturday
night after an illness of several weeks.
He was a member of the Knights of i
Pythias and at one time an alaerman
of the town. Ge was buried in. the
Shnler cemetery Sunday, the last sad
rites being performed by Rev. S. R. *
Bass in the absence of Rev. J. C. Hoi- ]
ley, his beloved pastor. <

Congressman A. P. Lever passed ]
through Columbia yesterday morning ~
on his way to Washington to be present
at the opening of congress.
He stated positively that he is not
a candidate for the United States senate.
"I am not a candidate for the
Benate," he said, "and will not be in E
the coming campaign. My purpose is f
to ask for a reelection to the house."
