We are pained to chronicle the death of Miss Octavia Dooley, the eldest daughter of Mr. J. P. Dooley, who died from fever last Thursday < ? and was buried at home the following day. She was a good girl and beloved by all who knew her. Mr. Dooley and family certainly has the sympathy j of our people. He hac three others of his" family now sic*. Mark Toney, an estimable lady, living near Johnston, met a sadden and tragic death, yesterday morning. The Southern Railway No. 8, passanger train going towards Columbia struck a buggy in . which she and her son were riding. The horse was killed, the buggy demolished, her son was painfully wounded and she fatally injured, so she died a short while after the collission. The tragedy occurred in about one mile of Johnston in a very deep and dangerous cut P?y Up. We request all in anyway indebted to us either for subscription or advertising to please call or send and pettle.
