Sometimes in the April-kissed springtime, the little flower we welcome as SPSi the snowdrop, droops and dies, but yfc: its delicate face has inspired us to hope, and perfumed our life with ^ - thoughts of purity. It was even so with "our babe"?the tiny blossom of humanity that came to the home of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Shealy, of Lexington. The little baby died Monday, and the small body was laid to rest at Beulah church, in the Hollow Creek y section, yesterday morning, the last sad rites being performed by Rev. A. % S. Leslie of the Methodist church. May God's purest angels guard her . N slumbers. ? ? t Subscribe for Home ana Farm. C., May 13.?The interesting scrap between the Richland and Lexington county board of dispensary control is still on, with the Lexingtonians still the agressors. The Lexington board today decided to establish a dispensary in Brookland, which is a suburb of Columbia, but which is located across the Congaree bridge in Lexington county. This dispensary will sell in competition with the Columbia dispensaries at a scale of prices which will make the Richland board sit up and take notice, it is said. M. G. Caughman, a former guager at the state dispensary, has been elected dispenser of the Brookland shop. The Lexingtonians have always been staunch state dispensary advocates and they are trying to """I nTifttiT/l in rtViQTOP ftrpr A worry tuc new wv(iu ?ll t/uW&v ^ ,? in the city. Died at her home in Columbia, Mrs. Sallie Shealy the wife of Mr. Drayton Shealy, on Thursday, May the 8tn. Seldom has it been our duty to record so sad a death. A dark gloom spread over the whole community when it was learned that so beautiful a young life had "passed away." She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert E. Wingard, and was of an affectionate disposition, bright and winning in her ways, so that friendship^ circle was to her a large one. I Indeed, it may be said of-' her, that \ "none knew her but to love her." Only a few years ago she was married to Mr. Shealy of Columbia, who survives her. She was buried on the 9th at Irene in the presence of a large - congregation of sorrowing frienas ana relatives. _ Little Kouatain School Closing The closing exercises of the Little Mountain school will be held on Friday, the 17th instant.
