The new proposition takes ^ in a sparsely populated territory, extending from the Orangeburg line to es the Savannah Hunt creek, at Mrs. Texa Geiger's mill, where the Sa Bp vannah Hunt empties into the Conat garee river. >le This territory contains a large numes .ber of colored citizens, some of whom if- are property owners, and no doubt a, the promoters are "betting" on fooler ing these colored people into joining n- the new county; but these citizens, le" like all others of their race, are bit- _ at terly opposed to high taxes, and we m of are sure that they will not be lead V ul into any such scheme, for they will Ij at once realize that their taxes and iy rents will surely be higher in the new id county than in the old.
