Anderson, April 18.?J. B. Walker and John Dickson, two electricians employed in a power plant near here, were drowned in Saluda river today. They were visiting trout lines when their boat capsized. E. Zeigler, private secretary to Congressman A. Frank Lever, died at his home in Orangeburg last Thursday at the age of 58 years, from a stroke of paralysis. Tallahassee, Fla., April 18.?The senate by a vote of 25 to 5 has adopted a joint resolution to declare the 'fourteenth and fifteenth amendments to i the Federal constitution void and to < disfranchise the negro in Florida. The resolution was introduced by Senator John S. Beard, of Pensacola. Senator Beard declared that he believed that the supreme court of the United States would uphold the action of this state in disfranchising the negro. The house is overwhelmingly for the resolution and the question of the legality of the acts in question will thus go before the United States supreme court.
