Beautiful Window; The Work
of Beautiful Hands.
In the window of W. P. Rocrs big
store, is the prettiest display of ladies
hats, flowers, etc., ever seen in Lexington.
It is the equal of any sliow
window in the large cities, and is the
work of beautiful hands, under the
supervision of Miss Brown, the exgert
designer of Baltimore. Miss
rown has already endeared herself
to the people of Lexington, not only
as a designer of ladies' pretty headwear,
but as a young woman of many
personal charms.
Thanks to a Generous Public.
nnr? rJv'eliino* and smokehouse, with
their entire contents, were accidentally
destroyed by fire on January 24,
1907, and'we being left homeless,
knowing not what to do, our near
friends advised us to rebuild?that all
would help. We accepted their advice,
and with the aid of the good
people, and much labor, we have rebuilt
and moved into our new home to
start life anew. To our neighbors,
and people far and near, we take this
opportunity of expressing our thanks
through the columns of this paper to
all who rendered aid in any way
either money, work, articled donated,
and for all help from whatever source.
Thanks to Him for "giving us a dwelling
place among such a good and
generous people, and may the blessings
of God be showered upon each
and every one.
Yours,
i W. B. Shull,
Alvin B. Roof.

Will Haas Friday.
Governor Ansel has refused to interfere
in the case of Thomas Harris,
the white man who is to hang at Gaffney
Friday for having killed Mrs. W.

efforts have been made to commute
his sentence, but without success.
