He is now Chief Ruler of the "Thirteen Club", one of the largest social clubs in New York. Col. Hobbs sent tis, also, a menu, book, which contains, among othpr things, a brief sketch of his life up to the present time. He has recently been elected secretary of the New York Press club, receiving 4 votes to his opponents 1. Col. Hobbs will come south with his family in the month of June, at which time they will visit Lexington. Washington's Birthday Social. A Washington's Birthday Social will be givenkt the home of Mr. John J. Taylor Friday evening, February 22nd, for the benefit of St. Stephen's church, this city. Among the special attractions of the evening will be colonial costumes, music and patriotic decorations. The ladies of the W. A. S. will serve appropriate refreshments.
