Hutto, of this city, left for the Atlanta Pasteur Institute yesterday morning, hoping that the treatment administered there would ward off the dreaded hydrophobia. He had just emerged from a store, with several bills in his hand, when the dog, which was standing in his pathway, snapped at tfce pieces of paper, his teeth fastening on Mr. Hutto's hand instead. As the wound was' not very painful the injured man gave it little heed, and proceeded about his business. After returning from Waynesboro, he went to several towns along the Georgia rdad. ,, The same afternoon,, however, the dog bit two children, and was later killed.?Augusta Chronicle. The Brookland Light Infantry had a prize drill on last V^ednesdav night which was largely attended and greatly enjoyed. After a long competition drill Sergeants Turner and News were declared winners. Addresses were made by Rev. S. R. Ba9S, pastor of the Baptist church, and Mayor Gunnells, after which refreshments were served. The ladies of the town gave a dance in honor of the visiting ladies, and the evening proved to be one of genuine pleasure. The Price of Peace. This speaks well for the present management. For one time the dispensary is square with the schools of the State. Wife and Children Destitute. Gadsden, Ala., Jan. 8.?L. M. Pateet and Mrs. Carrie Westmoreland were arrested in Alabama City, where they have been living together for several weeks, at the instance of Pateet's wife who, with four young , children, is destitute at Spartanburg, S.
