Such was the expressions bf greeting upon the streets of Leesville this morning, for every one knew Aunt Martha, and more than that, all loved her/ Aunt Martha was the beloved wife of Capt. A. P. Ajmt Martha was the daughter of Rev. Emanuel Caughman and has been ?he faithfully devoted and lov. ing companion of Capt. A. P. West for nearly 50 years. To them hav3 b2 n fccrn five sons and three daughters, all 01 whom survive her, save one, her son Ernest. Early in life she consecrated herself i to God and united with the Lutheran church. Later in life, after wedding Capt. West, she joined with him the church of his choice, the Baptist, in which she has labored zealously and to which she has ever been loyal.? Cor. Friends of City Physician Chew who knew of a visit of the stork last night visited the Chew residence in the exclusive cottage section before daylight and posted large lettered placards on the house informing the Eublic of the arrival of a son and eir. Atlanta, Dec. 20.?After slashing the face of Marshal Creel, of College Park tonight several times with a knife, Hugh Bridges, a negro, was j shot and fatally wounded by the marshal, who is painfully but not serious ly hurt.
