Before the enjoyment of your
Christmas festivities remember that
there is nothing better than to have
your home made comfortable with
nice furniture, etc. Make your wives

O&uapioa of Tha County.
Oar good friend', Mr. M. E. Butland
of Batesburg, can truthfully be
g called the champion cotton grower of
r the county. He raised on a portion
f of his farm this year 20 bales of cotton,
for which he received over two
thousand dollars. The cotton was
bought by Mr. T. B. Eemaghan and
shipped to Massachusetts, and sold
for 21 cents per pound.
This cotton, it is said, can be grown
on the same land as other varieties,
and will make the same amount of
lint. It has been named, "Rutland's
f Improved Long Staple," and the seed
is already in great demand.
"Rnt.lflnd farms on the scientific
plan, and the results are remarkable.
He is one of the most progressive
men of Batesburg, and has helped in
more ways than one to make that
town what she is to-day?one of the
best in the State.
