Obituary of S. W. Bookman.
Samuel W. Bookman was born
August 30, 1836, and died September
12, 1906, age 70 years and 12 days. In
early life he become a confirmed

Irmo, S. C. He loved his
church and was always regular in
duty and attendance until infirmatives
prevented him. He served his
age acceptably as mill-wright. During
the civil war he bravely did his duty
in the Confederate army in Company
C, 21th S. C. Regiment. In 1856 he
was married to Harriet Coogler and
to them were born 4 children. Her
death preceeded his. In 1892 he was
married to Miss Amanda Coogler.
Father Bookman was a good, true
man, noted for his cheerfulness and
hospitality. After much patient suffering
he calmly fell asleep in Jesus.
He leaves^t? mourn his loss an aged
and devoted/wife, one son, one daughter,
one sistter, eight grand children,
many relatives and friends. His body
was laid to rest in the old Bookman
church cemetery in the presence of a
1 irge congregation. 4 4Blessed are the
dead which die in the Lord." The
funeral services were conducted by
his pastor, Enoch Hite.
Wounds, Bruises and Burns.
By applying an antiseptic dressing to
wounds, braises, barns and like injuries
before inflammation sets in, they may
be healed without maturation and in
about one-third the time required by the
old treatment. This is the greatest discovery
and triumph of modern surgery.
Chamberlain's Pain Balm acts on this
same principle. It is an antiseptic and
when applied to such injuries, causes
them to heal very quickly. It also allays
the pain and soreness and prevents any
danger of blood poisoning. Keep a bottle
of Pain Balm in your home and it
will save you time and money, not to
mention the inconvenience and suffering
such injuries entail. For sale by The
