Prof. F. W. Rauch left Monday
for Dawson, Ga., in response to a
telegram to visit his brother, Dr.
Henry Rauch, who was said to have
been a very sick man at that place.

over for a short visit to the parents,

Mr. Monroe Horner paid his friends
and acquaintances a flying visit here
last Thursday. .He is now at Eigin,
Ga., doing well which his looks indicate:
Mr. W. S. Norris, one of the worthy
supers of Middleburg Mill, Batesburg,
pvaid his friends a pop call last Saturday.
He shows he is well cared for
and is doing well and we were glad
to see him.
Sheriff P. H. Corley returned Saturday
from a pleasant trip to Atlanta,
Ga. His little son Leppard, who is
powerfully fond of base ball went
with his pa to see howr they played
the game in Atlanta.

Mr. Chalmers E. Wessinger f has
been suffering fropi an attack of nervous
indigestion at his father's home,

Mr. W. B. Shull can rest assured
we appreciate his kindness in sending
us a mess of his early sweet potatoes.
They are the first we have seen this
season. Mr. Shull is one of the
thriving truck farmers between here
and Columbia.
We regret to learn that Dr. L. E.
M. Smoak and family, for several
years identified with the business and
social affairs of Lexington, are to
leave us today to make their
home at Cross Hill. They leave many
and strong friends behind them, who

in their new home.
