The lightning Saturday evening
struck and killed a mule hitched to a

ladies were driving the mule and the
rain came up, they hitched the mule

house, the lightning struck the tree
and killed the mule, which belonged

Death of Jesse 21. Yon.
On Saturday night the spirit of
Jesse M. Yon passed away. He
worked all day Saturday, ate ahearty
supper and was taken sick and died
before day.
Jesse was an industrious, active and
thrifty farmer in mature life and a
good citizen. He was about fortyfive
years old and for years has been
a regular, consistent member of the
Salem Baptist church in whose grave
yard his remains now rest to await
the summons from "on high."
He was a firm and true friend, a J
considerate husband, a kind father
and a provident husbandman in life.
He leaves many friends to regret his
loss. He was born and reared, lived
and died in the same community, and
to the bereavement of the home he
loved, and the neighborhood he so
faithfully served. Spctator.

To the Editor of the Dispatch:
Please allow me space in your
paper to thank my friends for the
j trust they repose in me by announcing
my name for County Supervisor.
After considering the matter very
carefully and being solicted from almost
every locality in the county I
feel it my duty as a citizen to respond
to the call and will say, I am in the
race to win. Geo. H. Koon.

continually improving and I take it I
for granted that you reflect in your
