Commencement Exercises Held At St. Johannes Church. Graduates of the Theological Seminary At Mount Pleasant Received their Diplomas. The commencement (x-rcisas of the Lutheran Theological Seminary were held Wednesday nfternoon 9 h, at St Johannes church, and a large congregation was piesenfc to eee the graduates receive their diplomas and to hear the 6ermon of the R*v. Dr. R C Holland. The service was im pressive ard was thoroughly er jived by those present. The regular Vesper service of the Lutheran church was used, and was participated in by the Rsv Dr. A. G. Yoight, the dean of the Seminar}; the R*v. Dr. C. Kuerner, the pastor of St. Johannes chuich and Dr. Holland. Dr. Kosrner conducted the first part of the services; Dr. Voighfc delivered the diplomas and concluded the service. The feature of the occasion was, of course, the sermon of Dr. Holland, Taking as bis theme, "Conscious, MrtKtprfnl Ssifhond/' fnnndpd nn thft sixth chapter cf Ncheraiah, verse 2: 4 Shall such a man as I am B?iDg such as I am, shall I go into the temple to save my lift? I will not go in." Id concluding his excelled sermon Br. Hcliand said to the graduates: "Youcg men, recognize you are called to do your best. The times loudly call for men who are bound to the wails of Z:ou by the purpose of doing the best possible. Yju owe it to the church, to the world, and let no temptation to indolence or carelessness cause you to lower the standard set up for you by your instructor in the Seminary, and take as your teacher also Nehemmb, whose conscious duty to self held him to perfect the walls and finish the towerp, sa)ing to the temples to inglorious e&6e, "Shall such a man aslamfl->e?" The members of the graduating clasp, which consisted cf Julian B. Human, of Havirdevilie, S. C ,Eooch Hite, of Leeeville, S C, and the Kev. W. H Roof, of Leesville, S C, were then given their diplomas by Dr. V light, who took occasion to give class a few words of sound adice and made sotue very plessant and appropriate remarks. If you had all the wealth of Rockefeller, the Standard Oil magnate, you could not buy a better medicine for bowel complaints than Chamberlain's Colic, Cholera and Diarrhoea Remedy. The most eminent physician can not prescribe a bettor preparation for colic and diarrhoea, both for children and adults. The uniform success of this remedy has shown it to be superior to all others. It never fails, and when redue m! with water and sweetened, is pi >asant to take. Every family should be supplied with it. Sold by The Kaufmami Dni? Co. * - T. X L cures nouragia. C >lumbia, May 1 ?Tee dispensary forces of York have organized to compass the defeat of J Steel Bric9 the anti dispensary leader in the penate, nod author of the Briee Act. It is thought that this will lead to similar fights throughout tbu State. Yorkville, May 7 ?The York county Democratic convention met here today, and by handsome majorities i endorsed Senator J. fc>. hJnce, reelecting him county chairman and carried every anti-dispensary question. The dispensary forces were organized to tbfir fullest capacity and caucused during the morning. The meetiog was a pleasant odp, but showel that York couDty will fight the State liquor question and stand by Senator Brice. It Is Dangerous to Neglect a Cold. Plow often do we hear it remarked: "Its only a cold," and a few days later learn that the man is 011 his back with pneumonia. This is of such common occurrence that a cold, however slight, should not be disregarded. Chamberlain's Couch Remedv counteracts any ? ? A pair of the well known expert fishermeD, over on Broad river, went striking in Wateree cretk one night last week, we are told, and had dear experience with worse than fisherman's luck. They undressed and prepared for the water near Mr. Wash Lever's pond and went down to the mouth of the creek making their way up the stream in the water looking for hob in great anxiety. After having no luck, they went to the epot where they had left their c!oi.biD?, etc, and they were greatly* astonished to fiud that a fire bad caught up from the sparks of the torches after their departure aDd burned their shoes and clotbiDg, a watch and even the baidie out of their axe, leaving them almost Dudo and some distance from heme It was quite laughable to see what a queer looking tight fit pair of paDtB aa overall jicket mode for cue, while the other used an undershirt for his .pmte, the sleeves acting as pants legs, buttoning the thirt around his waist.
