This delightful weather causes the
Editor to think of angling the jack,

Frost on the coast aDd in several
of the Pee Dee counties Monday
night did some damage to truck.
Strawberries were uninjured. Shipping
of berries has begun in earnest.
The crop in Horry is said not to be
as promising as that of laBt year, but
better prices are expected.
We are expecting a large crowd in
town in attendance at the county
convention Monday, and we suppose
the prospective candidates will be in
evidence. We have good material
for the various offices and see no
reason why they should not make
themselves known.

Martin L. Taylor has sufficiently recovered
from bis recent attack of
appendicitis and concomitant operation
of expediency to enable him to
walk about bis room and confidently
hope soon to see him cut again,
restored to his usual health.
Thursday, May 10th, is memorial
day and we hope our people will not
allow it to pa^3 unobserved, if but a
rose i9 placed on the soldiers' grave.
