It is said tbat there was in the ands of the farmers on September at, 1905, 338,000 bales, in round umbers, and tbat to January 16tb, 906, "9,998,000 bales bad been inned, making a total of that on and and that ginned of 10,336,000. If that number 7 498,000 bales were aceived up to January 16th past, hicb still leaves in the hands and antroll of the farmers 2.838,000 ales of eotton. It is estimated that ae consumption for the year will be t the lowest 1,000,000 bales per lonfch. Then 12,000,000 will be jnsumea daring the year. There is vieable supply, as shown above, of nly about 10,000,00 bales, then if ie farmers succeed in holding 2.000, 00 of the number of bales they had a band fifteen days ago, it will be p to the mills to pay the price asked r shut down. It appears to us, lerefore, that the farmers have the ivantage for once in their lives, if ley will ooly use it. Here's hoping >r fifteen cents cotton.
