Chapin News.
Having seen no mention from th's
leciion in the columns of the dear
)ld Dispatch in a loDg time I will
nake an effjrt to give you the best
[ can of a few facts and happenings.
To start off I will first mention
he Chapin school which is in a very
lourishiDg condition UDder the ex- j
sellent tutorship of Prof. J D Farr, j
ts principal, and Miss Blanche j
iyzer, as assistant. They are domg i
in excellent work, and the school, I
im tcld, is the largest we have ever
lad. The enrollment, from what I !
earr, is about 110 There will be !
leveral graduates from this school
it the end of the session. The school
s ruo on the graded system. The
>nly thing that I see short about
he school is the building and the j
'uuds. We need a new school build- j
ng very bad, and more money to j
un the school as it should be run. |
The only way I see to do this sue- j
sessfully is to vote a district t8".t of j
iay 2 or 3 mills. With 10 or 12?
sent cotton and the prosperity or
ibe country, I think this district I
5ould do that much for the children j
ind never miss U, and io after years |
[ feel sure they would be proud of j
t. I hope our people will weigh
ihis district tax matter well. Think
ibout it and talk aboutit.
I think our people are about done
tilling hogs.
The bird and rabbit hunters have
lad their fun during the holidays.
Mr. Editor, I noticed a few weeks
igo that you had again taken up the
free bridge question. Hope you
will keep this subject hot as I think
Lexington county ought to have a
frflfl hridafl somewhere across Saluda
river. I thick the hustle and bustle j
)f business requires this bridge.

A Grim Tragedy
is daily enacted in thousands of liomes
as death claims in each one another victim
of consumption or pneumonia. But
when coughs and colds are properly
treated, the tragedy is averted. F. G.
Huntley, of'Oaklandon, Ind., writes:
"My wife had the consumption, and
three doctors gave her up. Finally she
took Dr. King's New Discovery for
Consumption, Coughs and Colds, which
cured her, and today she is well and
strong. It kills the germs of all diseases.
