Recently persons have been known
to express sympathy for the cotton
mills because cotton is bringing 10
to 11 cents. The complaints do not
come from the mills, but from weak,
lender-hearted men who like to manifest
sorrow for anybody. They would
rather be sorry and cast down rather
than happy A few months ago the
president of the Newberry cotton
mill died. About ibat time the milk
lost more than $200 000 in some unfortunate
con deaU. They have
recovered that loss and have a surplus
of $200,000 on hand and are
paying regular dividends. Tbev have

of consumption or pneumoni . But
when coughs and colds are p operly

The New Y-ar is here. The past
is forever gone. Toe future stands
out before us and calls for renewed

things. Never has the outlook for

The Grip.
"Before we can sympathize with
others, we must have suffered ourselves."
No OEie can realize the suffering attendant
upon an attack of the grip, unless
he lias had the actual experience. There
is probably no disease that causes so
mucli physical and mental agony, or
which so successfully defies medical aid.
All danger from the grip, however, may
be avoided by the prompt use of Chamberlain's
Cough Remedy. Among the
tens of thousands who have used this
remedy, not one case has ever been reported
that has resulted in pneumonia
or that has not recovered. For sale by
