Frank Turner, at Bamberg, last j
week and placed him in jail at this
place on the charge of stealing a
gold watch and money on Thanksgiving
Day from Mr. Bell, at Brook- e

Baptist Sunday School.
The Sunday School of the Baptist
church will have a Christmas exercise
in Boof Hall Christmas night, December
25. A program will be rendered
for the benefit of the Sunday School
- and the people of the Lexington
cotton mill. Exercises will begin at
seven o'clock. Every one is cordially
invited.

Lights and Water Works.
The Town Council has taken initiative
steps towards installing an electric
plant to furnish lights for the
town, business and private use. Also
water works. A committee has been
ippointed and an experienced man
invited to come and survey the situation,
furnish estimates, &c. Both are
very much needed and we will be
pleased to see some definite action
taken in the matter.
