Letter from Georgia.
I left Pelion S. C, September 30,
to make my home io Georgia, and I
am now living in Bollock couQtv, one
among the b^sfc counties in the State
I have travelled abcfut 20 miles over
the county and I find it to be a good
section of land, especially for agriculture,
and that is all the go here.
Crops on a general average were
good this year, except the potato
crop which is somewhat short. The
pine timber in this county is about
all used up.
Mr. Editor, on a general average

The Georgia folks treat a South j
Carolinian good and are just as kiDd
to them as can be?they are to me
*nd I guess they are to others?and
I assure you that I appreciate their
kindness. They make me feel like I
am at home.
There are plenty of wild deer,
swine and turkeys and all kinds of
jame in about three miles of where
I stay, and you can bet I hare my
fun.
I am twelv.e miles north east of
Statesboro, Ga. Statesboro is the
county seat and a few days since I
went over and found it be a progressive
place.
Mr. Editor, I receive the Dispatch
?- - j t i t
every ween, auu x aaauie juu x cujoy
every word in it, for the grand
old county of L?xinging is my native
home and through the columns of
the Dispatch I get all the details.
For fear my letter will be too ong
I will close with best wishes.

Found in a Georgia Tows.
Chief of Police Norris, of Augusta,
has written Gov. Heyward that D
C. Murphy, a life sentence convict
who escaped from the State prison,
is now in jail at Swainsboro. Murpiiy
was sentenced to be hanged for
the murder of County Treasurer
Copes, of Orangeburg, but had his
sentence commuted to life imprisonment
and was sent up March 26,
1897. He escaped soou afterwards.
He is now in the. Georgia town,
where he wa9 arrested, under the
name of Smith, for horse stealing.
The Augusta chief wants to learn if
South Carolina wants this prisoner
now, but if it does it is probable
that the man will fight extradition.

Judges te be Elected.
It will be general interest to note
that quite a number of judical elections
will be held by the general assembly
at its next meeting. According
to the records in the office of the
secretary of state the elections that
will be held are to fill the positions
now held by Chief Justice Pope,
Judge Dantzler, Judge Aldricb,
Judge Purdy, Judge Watte, Judge
Gage and Judge Kiugh.
These half dozen elections will enliven
the next session to a consider1
able extent.
It is Dot known whether all of the
present judiciary whose terms expire
duriog tne year 1905 will be candidates
for reelection. There have
been suggestions that some of the
present members of the bench will
retire to private life, and that they
have had quite enough of the worries
and tribulations of life on the bench.
Cut Out Profanity.
Young men, don'c swear. There
is no occasion for it outside of the
printing office, where it i3 useful
when the paper is behind time. It
also comes handy in proof reading
and is indispensable when the ink
works bad and the press begins to
buck. It is some times brought
into use when the foreman's mad;
and has been known to entirely remove
the tired feeling of the editor
when he looks over the paper after it
is printed Outside of the printing
office it is a foolish thing?Exchange.
Bilious Attack Quickly Cured.
A few weeks ago I had a bilious attack
that was so severe I was not able
to go to the office for two days. Failing
to get relief from my family physician's
treatment,I took three of Chamberlain's
Stomach and Liver Tablets and the next
day I felt like a new man. H. C. Bailey,
