Wounds, Bruises and Burns.
By applying an antiseptic dressing to
wounds, bruises, burns and like injuries
before inflammation sets in, they may
be healed without maturation and in
about one-third the time required by
the old treatment. This is the greatest
discovery and triumph of modern surgery.
Chamberlain's Pain Balm acts
011 this same principle. It is an antiseptic
and when applied to such injuries,
causes them to heal very quickly. It
also allays the pain and soreness and
prevents any danger of blood poisoning.
Keep a bottle of Pain Balm in your
home and it will save you time and
money, not to mention the inconvenience
and suffering such injuries entail.

Portrait of Orea. Bobex* 35. Lee.
The fact tbafc too frequently it
transpires in American history that
no accurate and authentic portrait of
her great men is faithfully preserved
has caused a number of the devoted
admirers of General Robert E. Lee
to interest themselves to cause a
perfect picture of the great General
to be made aod to be preserved for
all future history.
This work, aftpr a lapse of forty
yeBrs, is now uod?r way by the John
A. Lowell Bank Note Company, of
Boston, who are using for this purpose
the f-xact photograph made at
Gen. Lee's residence in Richmond a
few days after the surrender, which
picture has always been considered
by the Lee family and friends as the
most perfect likeness ever taken of
the General at that period.
The work, when finished, will be
of the highest art of steel engraving,
so that it will thus be preserved for
all future time.

Advocates Race Suicide.
Baltimore, Oct 11 ?Agent George
W. Parker, of the society of the pre
vention of cruelty to children, takes !
distinct issue with President R.iosevelt
on the question of race suicide
in hie annual report issued today.
In commenting on the large number
of children found among families
little able to support and care for
them he declares that he meets with
many cases in the course of his wotk
where race suicide would be a decided
advantage He believes something
should be done to protect society
from the daDgerous increase in
families where there is do prospect
of ever beiog able to properly train
and care for the progeny.

Doctors said He would not Live.
Peter Fry, "Woodruff, Pa., writes:
"After doctering for two years with the
best physicians in Wavnesburg, and still
getting worse, the doctors advised me if
I had any business to attend to I had
better attend to it at once, as I could not
possibly live another month as there was
no cure for me. Foley's Kidney Cure was
recommended to me by a friend, and I
immediately sent my son to the store for
it, and after taking three bottles I began
to get better and continued to improve
until I was entirely well."
