has been filed and Congressman Lever
is preparing his answer. It is hardly
possible that the case will be heard during
the approaching session of Congress.

Isaac Edwards, D. Luther Koon and (
Hampton Craft, the special committee
appointed by the grand jury to examine
the offices and fiscal condition of the
honnfcv. commenced their work Monday
with T. 0. Stnrkie, Esq., as expert, and
completed their work yesterday. Their
finding will be reported to the grand
jury at the next term of court.

Some Wedding.
At the home of the bride's parents. Mr.
and Mrs. Geo. C, Clark, on last SnDday,
Octobe- 8th. Mr. James Qaincy Shealy and
Mi83 C lie Endora Clark were nn ted in
holy wedlock by Kev. J.E. Strickland, in
the presence of a few members of the immediate
families. The bride was attired
in a beautifal silk moll and attended by
her sister, Miss Bessie, who was appropriately
gowned. The groom had for his
best man Mr. Emerson Shealy, his brother.
After the marriage ceremony all repaired

of their appreciation of the product of culinary
art, which was evident in the sumptuous
spread.
The parlors and dining room were tastefully
decorated with golden rod, ferns and
other flowers, The bridal party wor5hipped
in the afternoon at Pond Branch after
which they left for the home of the groom's
parents carrying with them the beat wishes
f their many friends.

Mrs. Jessie Hendrix and family have
moved to Leesville where they will reside
in the future That town is the birth place
of Mrs Hendrix and tb6 plaee where she
spent her girlhood days and where she
was woed and won and from which she
left a happy young bride to take up her
residence in this place,
