The trustees of the Presbyterian College of South Carolina have decided that the college will remain at Clinton. September has given us some of the hottest weather we have experienced in the same month in a number of years. C W. Walker *was convicted at Covington, Ga, on Monday of wife murder, and sentenced to the penitentiary for life. The cotton gins throughout the county are running day and night, and they find it impossible to keep up with their work. Now that cotton is coming in money is becoming to be more plentiful. In the days of thy abundance remember the poor printer. Last week was a live business week and considerable cotton was brongbt to market. All the merchants seemed to be getting their share of trade. David H. Murray, a well known citizen of Ware county, Ga., was assasinated while sitting at bis table on Tuesday night. Borne one shot him with a shotgun from the outside. He was 38 years old and had a wife and one child. Iq a collision at Woodstock Grossing, near Birmingham, Ala., on Monday Conductor Harbury was iDstantly killed and 27 passengers were injured. The engine of a freight train crabbed into the two rear coaches of a passenger train. Sixty-five horses and a hundred carriages were burned id a fipe which destroyed the mammoth McDaniei stables in Wiimiogton, D-l. on Monday. The loss is nearly $100,000 J J.
