Tribute of Bespect.
Whereas, it baa pleased the Supreme
Ruler of the Universe to remove
from our midst our beloved
Brother, Robert Hamiter, who died
August 6, 1905, a faithful Odd Fellow
has been called to his reward, a
loving husbund has been taken to
that bourne from whence no traveler
ever returns; a home has been made
desolate, a loviDg wife's heart has
been brokeB, two children have been
made orphans, and a host of friends

whom there was never any reproach;
one whose face we sadly miss, whose
place we caonot fill; while we bow to
the will of Him who doeth nothing

of Dreams.' by Mr. H. E HarmaD,
which has just been issued by the
Authors Publishing Company of Atlanta,
Ga. It is a de luxe edition but
the word dainty describes it better

Blease Shoots Coleman.
Saluda, Sept. 8.?An unexpected
and perhaps a fatal tragedy occurred
on the streets of this town tonight
when State Senator E. S Blease, a
member of the firm of Able & Blease,
shot Joe Ben Coleman.
The sbootiDg occurred at or near
the corner of Smith Brothers' store.
Fiv9 or six shots were fired and
Coleman's body showed four wounds.
0n8 wound is in the hand, another
on the right shoulder, while the two
others penetrated the body. The
latter two wounds are of a very
serious nature and in the opinion of
the physicians either of them if ffi
cient to produce death.
The wounded man waa carried to
the Wheeler hotel where he is receiving
every attention. Immediately
after the Bhpoting Mr. Blease
went to the Sheriff and surrendered
and is now in jiil.

Millions of Mosquitoes.
New Orleans, Sept. 8 ?Millions of
marsh mosquitoes which descended
upon New Orleans last night and
made life miserable for several hours,
disappeared today.
The fever situation showed no material
change today, steady improvement
being shown in the city. The
country situation is discouraging as
to some sections, the disease apparently
having got a stronghold at
Tallulab and Lake Providence, and
being still severe in points at Jefferson,
St. Charles and St. John
parishes.
The local business situation is
steadily improving.

The purchase of a million bales of
cotton by the Southern Cotton Growers'
Assoeiation and the withholding
of the same for higher prices, is one
of the questions to be considered by
the Southern Cotton Growers' Association.
The big planing mill of the Atlantic
Coast Lumber company at Georgetown
was destroyed by fire, with a
large quantity of dressed lumber, on
Tnursday. The loss was over $75,000
and is fully covered by insurance1
Greenville will invite the Confederate
veterans to bold their State reunion
in that city during the annual
fair of the Piedmont Fair association
