The Lexington County Teachers' c
Summer School came to a close yes- *

terday after a very successful session. 8
This was undoubtedly the most *
interesting school for teachers ever ^
held in the county. Teachers and
pupils were enthusiastic in the work a
and each strove to do the best they

pliabment of much good. This

oasis in the memory of ail who at- ^
tended. We miss the sweet faces **
and bright smiles of the school c<
inarms from oar homes and streets,
as well as the intilligent countenances ^
and handsome appearance of the
yoong men. We hope to see them
all back next year.

Accidentally Shot.
On Monday morning August 21sfc,
one of the most deplorable accidents
occurred at the home of Mr. James
Derrick's that ever happened in this
neighborhood. His son Johnny had
occasion to carry his gun to the field
rod while sitting on the fence the
