Is it right that a property owner should lose $5.20 to let a dealer make 50 cents ? A dealer makes 50 cents more on fourteen gallons of ready-for-use paint, at $1.50 per gallon, tlian onr agent does on eight gallons of L. & M. paint and six gallons of linseed oil, which make fourteen gallons of the best paint in the world, at $1.20 per gallon; the property owner loses just $4.20. Is it right? It only requires 4 gallons of L. & M. and 3 gallons of linseed oil to paint a moderate sized house. Ten thousand churches painted with Longman & Martinez L. & M. Paint. Herbert had two large fields near his residence planted in ecrn and cotton?two rows of corn alternating with two rows of cotton. He says he got th8 idea from some letters written to the News and Courier by Alfred P. Aldrich. Mr. Herbert tried this in one or two fields last year, and was so convinced that it is a good thing that he repeated it this year on a larger scale. He says he has about two hundred bushels of corn from last year's crop that he would not have had but for this plan. One of its best recommendations is that it encourages the raising of more corn. The rows are planted four feet apart in both corn and cotton. The plan is of no special benefit except on rich land, where the cotton and I 1905 SUMMEI ? The corn Dot being shaded by other corn on either side of it has a better chance to grow, and gets a good start while the cotton is small. Then the cotton has a better chance to get the sunshine, especially after the fodder is stripped from the corn, and consequently it opens better. On rich land the trouble is to get the cotton to open. This plan remedies that to a large extent Is certainly adds to the quantity of both corn and cotton on rich land. Speaking of cotton, Mr. Herbert has a fifty-fire acre field on the road between him and I. P. Cannon's that he expects to get fifty-five bales from. Public is Aroused. Tlie public is aroused to a knowledge of the curative merits of that great medicinal tonic, Electric Bitters, for sick stomach, liver and kidneys. Mary H. Walters, of 546 St. Clair Ave., Columbus, O., writes: "For several months I was given np to die. I had fever and ange, my nerves were wrecked; I conld not sleep, and my stomach was so weak from useless doctors' drugs that I could not eat. Soon after beginning to take Electric Bitters, I obtained relief, and in a short time I was entirely cured." Guaranteed at The Kaufmaim Drug Co's. drug store; price 50c. The Correct View. Christian Appeal. Should trouble come to the church and her irflaence be hurt by the present agitation of the dispensary issue, it will be the fault of those who are engaged in it. If Methodist preachers will follow the dioipline and make their fight against the liquor traffic, and not agaimt any ore form, they will be in harmony with the discipline of the church, and therefore consistent. They will strengthen the position and influence of the church in such a position and even those who differ with them will respect their convictions and admire their consistency. In so doing they will avoid any friction of the church, hold their people together and advance the cause of temperance, prohibition and the influence of the church. Postmasters 3?eet.
