To the Editor of the Dispatch: Nice shower yesterday, which was very helpful. Growing crops have made some improvement since the recent rains. The health in our neighborhood is undergoing some improvement, we are indeed glad to say. Mr. Hamp Derrick, of the Dutch Fork, was here yesterday in search of fruit and melons for home consumption. He says both are almost a total failure over there. , Mr. James F. Jumper is conduct- i ing a store in Leeaville now. He I remains there most of the week, but returns to his home here once a week. The chain gang, having worked our roads a few weeks ago, has left them in excellent condition. Fodder pnliiDg time is rapidly approaching,' and even before this reaches the press several patches will be cured up nicely and ,in the barn. Mr. W. A. Price and mother went ( to Leesville Thursday. t Mr. Raymond Banks, of Orangeburg county, is visiting relatives J here. We understand that he will remain two weeks. * Mr. Henry Monts, who sometime ago had the misfortune to lose bis 1 dwelling with contents by fire, is now erecting a new one near the old * site. Mr. Hampton Long is so tickled 1 that be just laughs and laughs. He * eats the peeling and throws down the peach. Its a ten pound girl. * Mr. R. B. Koon, who represents ^ a nursery, stopped with friends here Wednesday. k The annual beef club has just opened. This makes two clubs * opened just two miles apart. ' Be quick, now, and tote in some wood. Yes, mamma, as soon as I 1 make me a little wagoiLl'il haul it. j July 22,1905. That's Who. c One Dollar Saved Represents Ten Dollars Earned. The average man does not save to exceed ten per cent of his earnings. He must spend nine dollars in living expenses for every dollar saved. That being the case be cannot be too careful about unnecessary expenses. Yery often a few cents properly invested, like buying seeds for his garden, will save several dollars outlay later on. It is the 6ame in buying Chamberlain's Colic, Cholera and Diarrhoea Remedy. It costs but a few cents and a bottle of it in the house often saves a doctor's bill of several dollars.
