ceremony of the Lord's Supper will

L. Keel, extends a cordial invitaticn

Moved to Columbia.
Mr. John S. Derrick and family
left yesterday for Columbia, where
they will reBide iu the future. Mr.
Derrick is a whole souled gentleman
and useful citizen, while Mrs. Derrick
is a refined, cultured and erenial
{ young lady, and they have a large
v circle of friends here who regretted to
see them leave. They, however,
carry with them to their new home
the best wishes of the community
for their future happiness and prosperity.
Negro Found Dead.
The body of a negro was found on
# the place of Mr. J. P. Shealy, neer
Irmo, last Monday. It is supposed
the negro died about two weeks ego
of smallpox. Coroner A. 0. Wilson
went up to Irmo Monday and held
an inquest. The body was so badly
decomposed that it could not be
moved and so was rolled into a grave
which had been dug near where the

R. R. Bonds Retired.
MeeBrs. Shand and Belcher of the
Colombia Bar, representing the
bondholders of Columbia, Newberry
and Laurens railroad, came over
Thursday to receive the interest due
on the bonds. Treasurer Shealy
promptly paid the same and retired
> over $4,000 worth of bonds. The I
payments and principal and interest
will be continued until all the outstanding
bonds are retired.
