India Badly Shaken.

While the exact figures are not
obtainable it is known that the number
of killed is very large. The lack
of food at Delhi and Simla and other
cities is resulting in much suffering.
Great havoc was wrought at Dharmscls,
where the native quarter was
entirely obliterated and almo'st the
entire population was buried in the
ruins.
Japanese Twice Disloged.
St. Petersburg, April 6.?A dispatch
to the war office from Chief of
Staff Karkevitcb, dated today, says
that a Russian Korean detachment
attacked a force of. Japanese infantry
about five miles from Kilju and that
the Japanese were dislodged from
two positions and dispersed by the
Russian fire and Cossacks' attacks.
The dispatch adds that Japanese
detechments have appeared on the
Mandarin road between Changtufu
aud Maimaikaii on the Russian front.

Obituary.
Mrs. Achah Shealy, widow of Ephriam
Shealy, died. March 20, 1905,
aged 81 yearp, 15 days. She leaves
2 brothers, 3 sisters, 3 soos, 1 daughter,
21 grandchildren and 21 greatgrandchildren.
These with her
many friends mourn the loss of a
kind Christian woman?a loss to us,
but to her eternal gain. She was the
mother of a pious family. Through
them she yet livep, and in them her
good example bears fruit after she
has passed away. She was baptized
and confirmed in the Lutheran
church and remained faithful to God
till death.
