Manv prominent; citizens of the three Fork townships who are interested in the railroad bond case, were here yesterday in consultation with their attorneys in reference to the adverse decision of the Supreme Court. It is likely the usual levy will be made and continue until the principal and interest are paid up. This is undoubtedly the beet way out of the difficulty and will not be so burdensome to the taxpayers of that ^ section. Shoes for the People. Mr. R. F. Corley who is well and favorahly known to our people for his fair dealings, desires to inform his Lexington friends that he can be found in the shoe department of Mimnaugh's Department Store, Columbia, ready to give them bargains in shoes for gent's, ladies and children in all styles and shapes as well as shoes built especially for the farmer. Call and see him when in the city as he will suit you both ia quality and prices. Ret? Pastor Arrived. r _ Kev. J. \V. Neace, the new pastor of the Lexington charge of the Evangelical Lutheran church, arrived last Wednesday. He and his family were met at the depot by a number of his parishioners and escorted to their new residence at the Monts' house on Upper Main street. It was our pleasure to form the acquaintance of Rev. Mr. Neace and found him to be a scholarly gentleman of affible manners and we are satisfied he will be successful in his ministerial work as well as proving a useful citizen. Divine Services. An inspector of the Rural Free Delivery routes was in town the latter part of last week and the first part of this week going over the territory of a proposed new route. If this route is established it will make the fourth one leading out from this place. No. 4 via Webster Corley to Rock Quarry down the Augusta road to tne Two Notch road and back to Lexington via Scuffletown. No 5 via E. J. Solomon Bouknight, colored, who has been in jail charged with breaking into a storehouse in Irmo, has been released on a $500 bond for his appearance at the next term of court.
