Col. D. J. Griffith was in town
Monday shaking hands with bis
numerous friends. They were glad
to see him looking so well.
Mi*. Pat Bickley and daughter,
of the Fork, were in town trading
Friday. Pat always prompt, did
not fail to call in to see us.
Mrs. Willie E. Sarman returned to
her home in Augusta Monday, after
a pleasant visit to the parents of
her husband in this place.
Capt Henry SpanD, of Leesville,
is in town attending court. Captain
Spann is a former Clerk of the Court;
and is very popular herebouts.

Mr. E. H. Sbealy, who resides on
the new R. F. P. route No. 3, out
from Gilbert called in our office last
Saturday and settled his dues to the

Rev. J. G. Graichen, pastor of St.

morning.
Mr. Lucius W. Wise, one of

and was a man of some prominence
and influence in the community in
which he resided and his death is a
